I have successfully set up two-step verification on my iPhone, iPad and cellphone number.
Works as expected
On my mini I am running 10.8.2
Find My Mac is turned On
I cannot get the mini added to the device list which shows what devices are part of two-step verification.
I have turned Find My Mac on/off, and rebooted the mini

well, yes, but it let me do the iPad and iPhone
and isn't the problem you mention that there is a flaw in the "reset my Password" function, which is not two-step verification.
the 3 day waiting period was always intended for people who have recently made changes to their account, and I think is not part of the concern over the Reset flaw.
I did not have to wait 3 days for the iPad and iPhone to work.
I am able at this moment to have it send the unlock verification code to my iPad. I believe two-step verification is currently up and working, except I can't get it turned on for my mini.
I could be wrong
Not sure what's going on then, but I vaguely recall reading Find my Mac was not working, then my mind is getting vaguer every day!
