New cd, new Mac mini, new SuperDrive bought for home theater computer and music server. After loading a couple of CDs in ALAC format I noticed they are dropping out briefly. Very similar to when a CD player skips in how it sounds. Any ideas?

Flac was my original plan but after forum readings I decided on alac. What is the best flac ripping/hosting/playback for Mac?
I have found a free download of a program called XLD. it works great. Testing it now. Looks like everything will be the same except I ripp/encode with XLD rather than iTunes 11. All is automatically loaded into iTunes...

My ALAC files are skipping or dropping out during playback. What's the problem?
