apple tv itunes is currently unavailable. try again later

I am getting the error "apple tv itunes is currently unavailable. try again later" when I try to play my content stored in the cloud. All other functionality works. This is the reason people don't trust keeping their content in the cloud. Apple is really starting to degrade in customer satisfaction...

Like clockwork every Friday evening - all the TV series and movies I've purchased aren't available because... "iTunes is currently unavailable. try again later."

My AppleTV gen 3 won't let me play my purchased movies in the cloud 95% of the time. I tried the RESET solution but it only worked for the next movie i played. After that, the error message came back. Apple needs to fix this because I started switching over my video library to itunes-only purchases a couple of years ago just to be able to stream them one day. This is quite a bummer. C'mon Apple! I think a partial refund is in order.

Something magical and mysterious happened after I posted to this site: Apple TV started working exactly as it should. All of my Purchased items were available on Apple TV all of the time just as they should. I realized that Apple does not monitor nor moderate this forum but it sure was a big coincidence that everything just clicked when i posted here. PTL.

I have the same problem. Previously purchased shows are no longer working within iTunes on Apple TV 3rd gen. I bought the whole series of Battlestar Galactica and Lost years ago and I currently cannot access them. My other shows work though. This is very worrisome as these shows cost me a lot of money to buy.

Had the same problem for the last three days. Here's what worked for me. Log into "settings>general>network" signout then signin again with your same old ID and password. My purchased TV shows and movies then were available. Obviously the ATV server lost authentication with your account for whatever reason.

I have two Apple TVs in my house, both give the error "iTunes is currently unavailable. Try again later." whenever I try to play back any tv show or movie that I have purchased (via iTunes in the iCloud). Strangely enough, I can playback any of my purchased content (tv or movie) using iTunes on my Macbook (via iTunes in the Cloud) (and, yes, same Wifi network). Also, Airplaying from my macbook to Apple TV give the error "iTunes is currently unavailable. Try again later."
