Why won't AirPort Utility 5.6 install on OS 10.7.5? Have tried several times on 2 computers and continually get error

I have an older airport express that cannot be configured with 6.2. I have tried to install 5.6 as instructed on 2 computers, both with OS 10.7.5 and in both cases repeatededly get an error during installation saying to contact software manufacturer.

If you are already running AirPort Utility 6, you can't install AirPort 5.6 using the installer because you are trying to install an older version than the one you have.

You have to do different steps in order to install that version. See > http://frank.is/mountain-lion-and-the-old-airport-utility/

And Pacifist doesn't support anything older than 10.8.

This is absolutely asinine, Apple. You already have the (very simple) code to configure old Airport Expresses. It's absurd to obsolete the configuration of an Airport Express in 6.x.

It's worse that, when I go to my ancient Mac Pro that can't be upgraded beyond 10.7.5, even *that* won't install AX Utility 5.6.

Edit: Nevermind, Pacifist DOES have older versions on their website. I didn't see it the first time I looked.
