You have downloaded the 10.8.3 update to 10.8. You cannot install this without first purchasing and installing the full OS X 10.8 Mt. Lion upgrade. To do so you must launch the Mac App Store (the blue circle with an "A" in your Dock). Search for OS X 10.8, purchase it, download it, and install it. Then you will be able to upgrade to 10.8.3.

I thought 10.8 might show up for you since you are still on 10.7, but apparently not. It looks like the only update route available to you via the MAS is to 10.9, which, if your Mac can run it, will actually be better for you. I'd suggest you check the minimum requirement and if your Mac does meet them, backup first, then download and install 10.9.

Otherwise you can purchase a download code for 10.8 from this page: <http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6377Z/A/os-x-mountain-lion>.

Regardless of which route you take make sure your Mac meets at least the mimimum requirements and that you have a current backup of all your data before you install anything.
