Screen Saver on 10.8.3 Fails to Activate

I have started this discussion because my system screen saver is failing to activate again. This problem started when the 10.8.2 update came out. Before then the screen saver worked perfectly. After 10.8.2 it almost never worked. Finally (I thought) after updating to 10.8.3 the screen saver began working again. I downloaded 10.8.3 on March 14 and it worked perfectly until March 23, when I discovered that it failed to activate, leaving the screen unprotected for over 8 hours. Since then, it has been working, but I fear that this problem has not been fixed.

Is anyone else still having this problem?

Mine is related to screen sharing. When screen sharing is disabled, system activates screen saver just fine. However if I activate a screen sharing instance, wether it be connecting to my mac, or connecting from my mac to my fileserver, after that the screen saver will no longer work. Still working on a fix, as I both enjoy screen sharing and screen savers.

I'm also having screen saver not starting issue when I have screen sharing enabled on my 2008 iMac (OS X 10.8.4). If I disable screen sharing the screen saver kicks in just fine. Screen saver used to work (I've had screen sharing on for a long, long time, several OS X releases at least) but started failing only a week or two ago out of the blue. It took me ages to figure out it was the screen sharing setting that caused it, I tried disabling everything else running in bg first, tried safe boot, nothing worked until I disabled screen sharing.

If I invoke the screen saver manually via hot corner it works fine.

I've now got the screen saver set to start after one minute to make testing easier and I notice that in system log almost exactly every minute I get the message:

ScreensharingAgent[<pid>]: [CL_INVALID_DEVICE] : OpenCL Error : Failed to create context! (null)

Note: <pid> is different (incremented) each time.

Disable screen sharing and the message stops of course and the screen saver starts as it should. It seems like whatever is triggering this message is stopping the screen saver from starting.

Final weirdness is that I also have a 2010 MBP also running OS X 10.8.4 also with screen sharing enabled and its screen saver works just fine.
