Anything you do to physically disable the camera is bound to also void your warranty. If you attempt to do something yourself you may also damage other internal components.
I know it is not the answer you want to hear, but you really need to get a (cheap?) phone with no camera. No OEM retailer is going to help you physically disrupt the device they made and sold you, and most would consider such modifications to void any and all warranty support.

There are independent repair shops that say they can remove cameras from iPhones, but if you have a shop do it, your warranty and any further support from Apple will be void. If your job requires that the camera be permanently turned off, though, that's your only option other than not taking your iPhone to work.
Regards.
I had a friend who wanted one without a camera just because he didn't want to use a crappy camera in a cell phone (he is a photographer). He had to finally give up.
The problem is counting MI-5, the NSA, the CIA and other intelligence and some defense industries exactly how big is the market for a cameraless phone? 10,000 people? 20,000? 50,000 tops?
The only way to design and market a cameraless phone to that market would be to charge about $3,000 USD for it.
Plus, in some secure locations you cannot have ANY personal electronics, which shrinks that marketing number.
Curious... if you disabled the cameras in software, how would you prove to MI-5 that they can't be re-enabled?
Considering that, maybe your only option is to physically remove them. That being said, it's going to be difficult to prove that as well, especially for the front camera.
I don't have a warranty anymore i want to remove the cameras from my iPhone 4 which I will take to work & I still have my iPhone 5 for outside of work, i just can't seem to find one of these shops which will do it?
lol I found an article about the newsstand glitch and it works
Step 1: Place any apps that you want to hide in the same folder and place that folder on the third page of the Home screen.
Step 2: Place the Newsstand folder on the second page of the Home screen.
Step 3: Use the newsstand to place the folder containing the apps you want to hide into the Newsstand folder. Again, to do this you need to be on the third page, tap the Home button, and immediately tap and hold on the folder containing the apps that you want to hide. After the screen goes to the first page, immediately swipe to the second page containing the Newsstand folder. If you see your device go into wiggle mode automatically, then it worked. From here, tap the Newsstand folder, and then press the Home button. The folder containing the apps that you would like to hide should now appear in the Newsstand folder. Please see our Newsstand glitch post for more details.
Step 4: Next, you may either reboot your device, or to quickly respring your device. I recommend the respring glitch, because it’s much faster than waiting for your device to completely reboot.
Step 5: Once your iPhone is back on the Home screen, check the Newsstand folder. The folder containing the apps should no longer be there. In fact, they won’t be found anywhere on the Home screen, as they are now completely hidden.
Step 6: To recover your hidden apps, simply reboot your device, or run the respring glitch for a second time.
it's not my credit of course
Find a cheap personal phone that will get the calls, and destroy the camera yourself with a drill bit or sanding pad.
Save the iPhone for "not at the office".
Just a thought, if your job is *that* necessary to you and *that* security conscious.
I was not trying to be sarcastic. I hope it did not come across that way.
With everything having a camera, sometimes one must get creative, even it it costs money.
Life and security requirements have not changed like technology.
It was just funny!
The frustrating part is there are lots of jobs now where cameras aren't allowed in the office also the military aren't allowed cameras on their phones so ud think there'd be a decent phone on the market without one, after all it can't be difficult to leave a feature out!
I think the issue is that the number of people who need smartphones without cameras is too small a market for the cellphone manufacturers, who plan in terms of selling hundreds of thousands of a given model, if not more, to want to support. Most people who purchase all but the most rudimentary phones want cameras.
Regards.
Instead of removing the 2 cameras you can remove the possibility to take pictures. That at the end of the day is your target.
It has to be done carefully. Probably a lab working on Lenses or Diamond/Gold can do it.
I imagine grinding the glass surface in front of both cameras heavy enought to make impossible to get any image.
Not sure if you can do it yourself with diamond tool.

Blackberry used to sell versions of some of their devices with the cameras permanently disabled. They were generally something that had to be special ordered by a company, though. Some non-smart phones can have the camera permanently disabled through programming. With fewer and fewer jobs restricting, I haven't heard of nearly as many phones on which the camera can be disabled.
You can't remove it, but you can restrict it.
Settings - general - restrictions - camera - on
Will they let you get a case that covers the camera lens? Of can you cover the lens under the case, since I am sure it would be hard to find a case without a hole for the camera lens?
I need them to be permanently turned off, is this possible?
What about if I take it to an apple store?
Thanks
