Is there any way to sync iCloud Contacts and iCal with a Kindle Fire?

I just did it and it works great. Here's the helpful response I got from the man who invented the app I needed to download on my knidle fire.

thank you very much for your request. Unfortunately does Amazon not allow SmoothSync for Cloud Calendars to be installed on the Kindle Fire. Technically it would run without issues.

However, you may want to try our app "CalDAV-Sync". It is basically the same as SmoothSync for Cloud Calendars but you would have to explicitly set the server to "iCloud" as it also supports other servers.

Now, don't ask me why Amazon allowed CalDAV-Sync but not SmoothSync - I have absolutely no clue.

As he says, just remember to use iCloud as your server name on the app.

You'll love it.

Nevemind, there's another app named CardDAV Beta that cost $1.99 in the Amazon App store it did just the trick.

I realize now that it was referenced in one of the earlier posts in addition to CalDAV.

Couldn't figure out the icloud server settings, the Apple support docs reference only mail aka IMAP & SMTP server addresses but I found that on Youtube:

I down loaded this app to my kindle fire and it worked great to move my Iphone contacts over the tablet. Appreciate your list of the details 'contacts.icloud.com' etc. I find if I enter an appointment on my phone now it automatically moves to my kindle, but not the reverse. Is there a way to also get them to move from my fire hd 8 to my phone? I've noticed that the CalDAV-Sync app is not available for the iphone.

The only iCloud service that your Kindle Fire can access is your iCloud email.

Have you looked at apps like CardDAV-Sync and CalDAV-Sync or SmoothSync for Cloud in the Kindle's app store?

Title says Calendar & Contacts, but solution and follow up only mention calendar, do the contacts sync using CalDAV-Sync as well?

Because the name seems to imply it's only Calendar-centric.
