There could be a few different reasons why this may be happening. A few things that could be causing this issue may be:
-The router or internet source sending your iPad a signal could be at fault
-The iPad itself may be too far from the WiFi antenna (router/modem)
-There could be an issue with the WiFi antenna on the iPad itself
You will need to explain in a little bit more detail why this is occurring: what you are doing when this issue happens? how far you are from the router? and how often this occurs over the course of an hour of web browsing?
Try #5.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Yes, I got it now. Thank you very much.
I used the #2 to resolved my problem.
Turn off the wifi>> turn on>> forget this wifi>>re-enter the same wifi and password.
I believe there must be a problem with my iPad wifi antenna. The first two don't apply. My iPhone and other iPads in the house are not having this issue. What can I do?
Something not right my iPad at least twice a day drops connection to router, but we also have another iPad and two phones using same router that don't have the problem!!
What can be done, fed up having switch my iPad off the on again to get a connection
Have also unplugged router etc but that makes no difference. This has only started since downloading the last updates for iPad, other iPad in house has not downloaded new updates yet and never ever looses connection, as mine never did until I updated
Help starting get brassed off with the whole thing now.
Any help would be grateful, wonder what apple say to issue?????
Hi I was wondering if you solved your issue?? I have and iphone and ipad they both connect but they work fine but after waking up either i don't seem to connect to the internet either.. I have several other computer, laptops, wirless printers and tvs hooked up to the same router, just some reason my iphone an ipad are the only ones with this issue. I had to hook up a different wireless router just so these two could stay connected makes no sense.. Just thought I would ask
I restarted my ipad and I don't seem to be having the issue right now, but I believe that every once in a while I have to restart the ipad because the issue does come back after some time. I think that the router we have at our house is low quality thru Comcast because it only happens at home. I never have this issue at work were I have a dlink router set up.
Been having this issue off and on the last 2 months. At times, it would disconnect every 20 seconds or so. Really made it difficult to watch the news of a bad winter storm this morning in Atlanta. However, I think I fixed my connection issue. I reconnect to my wireless network after it disconnected again, then clicked forget this network. Make sure you have your password handy for your network. As soon as it forgot it, I reconnected using my network password. Then once connected, I changed the lower HTML setting to auto from off. So far, this has worked. Here's to hoping it continues to work. Good luck to all.
