Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Some links don't work in Safari. For example the top grey buttons on apple.com don't work unless I option click and select "open in new tab", in fact I had to do this for five links to get to this page, what is wrong?

If you leave a tab open in youtube or facebook or similar 'super java timeout keylogger type advertising marketeer' websites, which mess with your keyboard shortcuts and browser functionality, then you will notice that links to youtube videos and similar, become dead and stop working (except the open in new tav method you mention).

This is in my opinion due to AJAX and Javascript timeouts programmed in to these websites

second reason being that Safari uses a lot of 'power saver' options which are not accessible to the user, but which are hard programmed in by developers. This is to make safari (seem to be) the fastest and best browser

However, its just a deception, because it is just deactivating what it considers unecessary for your browsing experience, in order to minimise the loading time.

a lot of websites have deliberately made safari unsupported (including google youtube until Tim Cooke decided to take 10 Billion dollars to switch back from Bing to Google search).

My advice, is not to use Safari for modern AJAX/java driven web apps (websites as we used to call them), and to switch to a non deprecated browser such as firefox.

I also cant upload images to google plus in Safari because the java upload dialogue does not work. Same to make a new folder for images in facebook. Doesnt work in Safari. Lots of things dont work in Safari, which is why i consider it to be a deprecated browser

yes you are right they use badgeville and other website apis and java.. using inspect element also shows some incorrect definitions and bad coding too

The amount of personal info and user data that is transmitted and shared between apple and its afilliated partnes such as badgeville, is indeed a mega invasion of privacy, apart from being a cause of bugs in safari.

I think its a jsession issue too though. not that im any good at java, im not. for me the whole code of this website seems to be an invasion of privacy anyway, as are most modern websites. in the nineties, a popup that says 'do you really want to leave this page?' was considered immoral spam. These days, its on facebook, youtube, apple.. everywhere. In the old days individual webmasters used it to make money, but big corporations didnt. anti popup software was the norm. Now, the web is designed to force you to allow popups and cookies, and suddenly its 'all fine and ok' to data mine, because now they found out they can make billions with it.. and so, what was once immoral, is now common practice.
