My ipod touch 2nd gen 8 gb won't boot! (I did hold home and power)

So my ipod touch 2nd gen 8 gb won't boot. It never really fell on the ground it was not jailbroken and I had it for almost a year. Yes I have googled it, yes I holded home and power button at the same time, basically did almost everything possible. I'm thinking it's the battery but might be something else. If you recognize this problem and know how to solve it, please reply here. I also can't connect to itunes in case your wondering

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
