How do I fix error 8008?

I've been having real problems downloading and updating apps via iTunes on my Wondows 7 PC. I get constant failed updates to all apps, with an error 8008 message coming up.

Have tried deleting tmp files, but still getting the same issues.

Has anyone else come across this and has anyone else got a fix?

One thing to add - I don't get this error when updating directly from my iphone over the same network, only when I try to update via iTunes on my computer.

Thanks all

Same problem and deleting the downloads directory didn't work. I was also having some corruption issues in my browsers on the PC as well. I finally tracked it down to a recent driver update by Microsoft to the drivers of my network card. When I went back and installed over the MS drivers, the original Ralink drivers, all was good, Itunes started working right, netflix stopped being odd, no more glitches in web pages - it was an insidious issue.
