I have figured out another way to fix this problem because none of the ways mentioned helped me.

First you need to login you your router, then set up a free guest network. forget your main wifi info and connect to your own guest network. then go back into the router settings and disable guest network and reconnect to your original wifi.

hope this helps

I Had the same issue today, unable to join home network as well as any other wifi network. After reading that it might be caused by overlapping signals, I logged into the router to change the channel.I noticed that the Channel width was on 20hz, so I changed it to auto (20hz or 40hz), and just like that it connected on the first try. To those still having this issue, give it a shot and see if it helps.

I had the same issue and usually a reset of all the network settings on iphone did the trick.

this method did not work with my iphone 5 . i did something in router settings that seemed to change things a lot, for the better.

the wifi channel usually the routers use is channel 11, so i changed mine to channel 1. this solved my issues and the iphone connected just fine to the network, without restarting the iphone or resettign any settings or switching off and back on the wifi.

this proves that this is not 100% an iOS issue but a router issue as well, thats what i think at least.

None of it worked for me. Anyone still trying? Apple?

Why is Apple not doing anything about this? I have an iPhone 5, never jail broken, latest OS (ios6.1.4). Why, why, why, why, why, why?! This *****. And I have tried every suggestion on this thread. Reset network setting, reboot, Wi-Fi on/off dance, etc. All my other devices working fine the whole time on the sae Wi-Fi -- even when I disconnect and reconnect. 2 laptops, Kindle, desktop, etc...All good. This is at least disappointing. C’mon Apple…

Seriously, I just noticed that Apple redacted the word ||S||U||C||K||S|| ? Lame. Such an odd choice.

The only thing that has ever worked for me is to switch my router to broadcast in 802.11n 5GHz Radio mode. Where I am, there's just too many wireless signals in the 2.4GHz range and it creates interference. The iPhone 5's WiFi antenna is pretty weak IMHO and mine has never been able to reliably connect to a 2.4GHz signal.

If all your devices in your house and your router support 802.11n at 5GHz, then I suggest switching. It's a stronger signal—but with a shorter range compared to 2.4GHz, and not as good when it comes to getting through doors/walls/ceilngs. Depends what's between you and the router.

Is anyone else still having this problem? I'm trying to find a solution, because my issue is very similar to others above.

I've had this iPhone 5 for months and it has been successfully connecting to both my office and home WiFi networks (as well as others outside) Recently something changed to where I cannot connect to my office WiFi.

I am the Network Administrator here and I have not changed the WiFi security or settings at all.

Troubleshooting steps:

1.) Restarted the phone several times

2.) Forced the phone to forget the network and tried to re-add the SSID and password (failed with "Unable to join the network" error)

3.) I have reset all network settings on my iPhone 5

4.) Using WiFi analyzer I haven't noticed a change in channel usage in my area.

5.) Checked with other iPhone and wireless users. Other iPhone 5 users in my office are connecting to the WiFi without issue, while some are having the same problem. No one with any other wireless device is having an issue.

6.) Reset the phone to factory (this worked only for about a week)

I would appreciate any other suggestions that doesn't involve changing my WiFi network. Also, I'm using 2.4GHz at home so it's not a bandswith issue, specially since I have 11 WAPs around my office.

This happened to me with only one of the four iPhones I have at home. It was clearly a problem with just the one iPhone, not a router issue. I tried everything suggested in this forum, but eventually I had to take it to an Apple store to get it exchanged. Fortunately, they did it for free. The new one has been working perfectly for several months.

I wasted time with the Southcenter minion.

It is evident the Genius' have been given a Company order to pawn it off as a home hardware issue. Apple is not the company it use to be and it "everyone else's fault and problem". I can't be a Apple hardware or software problem. The brainless in Cupertino better find some chickens for brain transplants to overcome their deficencies and hopefully overcome their mourning the passing of their God.- steep downhill grade and the oil slick is coming!

Thanks for the effort, but I've tried numerous times to do the network reset, and once the total phone (factory) reset. No luck for any long term. The only thing that works (and only for max 1 day) is to reset the router (supplied by Comcast). I might get a few hours or a day and then back to no connection. The odd thing is that all my other devices (old Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop, Kindle Fire HD, newer Lenovo laptop, 2 yr old HP desktop with built in WiFi) and everybody elses devices in this house (numerous -- probably a dozen split between the other 3 people) all connect and stay connected without issue. While I'm sure some will blame the router, why does evey other device work fine, but only my iPhone 5 fails? This is something that seems reasonably wide-spread and the fact that Apple seems uninterested is disturbing. This might seem trivial to some, but I work in the computer industry and require a reliable WiFi connection. This may push me to another platform which ***** because I am overall pretty happy with my iPhone 5 64. <sigh>

Please Apple, take notice, take a look, and please fix it. WiFi seems to be an issue for several of your devices. Help please.

One more thing, I've already replaced the cable modem 3 times (I'm on my 4th cable modem).

Thanks but what worked for you? Details would be great.

I am also ready to declare my issue solved, but my solution *****. I plugged another wireless router into the back of the COMCAST supplied model and now I am connecting with no problems to a Trendnet for almost two weeks. <sigh>

Should I really have to get a second router to use the phone in the house?!
