Camera connection kit not working with ipad2

Have you tried this?

Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

Did you get anywhere with your issue? I've got the same problem and don't know what to do, and yes I've restarted and rebooted the iPad before anyone suggests it!!

Reading all the other posts I'm starting to think is a software fault.

I've just called Apple support and they didn't even know what the connection kit was. Think its time to give up I've survived without it so far!!

Connect your Camera Connection Kit to your iPad, ignore any not supported notices, connect your camera and turn on your camera. Did that help?

I am also suffering from this. Worked OK until IOS 6 then getting device not supported message. Tried rebooting and ignoring message but not able to import from camera. This is happening on 2 different ipads.

I have an iPad 2 and received the message that "this device is not supported." I finally found the fix, There is a tiny knob on the right side of the camera kit. Mine has to be in the up position for my iPad to read the device. I found the answer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8fziJffK50

I was having the same problem and couldn't figure out what I was doing differently than I had before. I just flipped the little black switch on the side of the connector and the camera connected and pictures started loading. Thank you so much!

I had same problem. SD/USB Switch was in wrong place. However it still didn't work.

Removing the Ipad from it's leather case fnally fixed the problem.

The connector wasn't seating fully with the case fitted.

I have just used my Camera Connection Kit about an hour ago to transfer photos from my camera to my iPad 2 (IOS 7.0.3).

I have a 5 in 1 (not Apple) connection kit and like most others was pulling what little hair I have out trying to use the SD card reader on my IPAD 3 (probably the same with the Ipad 2), it simply does not work since the recent software upgrades. However I have just discovered that my camera USB connection lead DOES work when connected to the USB socket of the 5 in 1 connector. You will need to move the little black switch on the connector to the USB position. Once connected it shows an import icon which then allows scroilling through every photo on the camera. I can now import selective or all photos and it saves spending out £25 plus on an 'official' connector. Hope this helps.

I have an iPad 2 and this happened to me recently too. I did manage to fix it. I blew out the connection port on the iPad and the Apple USB connector kit, plugged the USB cord into the kit as snug as possible (I use the camera kit to connect instruments to GarageBand), plugged the kit into the iPad and made sure it was snug and seated all the way in, and it worked. I think after a few years of use, the connection port on the iPad is wearing out. Coincidently, this happened shortly after an iOS upgrade so I thought it was a software issue.
