My iPod touch 4th generation screen cracked , how do I find out if my warranty covers for getting it fixed or a new one?

The warranty does not cover that type of damage.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for the 64 GB one and $99 for the others. They do not fix yours.
