fcpx error 1

I am getting a error-1 upon exporting the project on fcpx 10.0.8. It crashes on the processes on different frames, any idea's suggestions?

(all my files project/media is on an external drive)

Hey guys unfortunately I am running into this at the moment.

FCPX's error for frame XXXXX unfortunately doesn't make any sense as it is refering to a frame of a clip that is Pro Res and has no effects on it. Just a clip.

I am also trying to export a 60 minute video which could be some cause for the issues. But still, an editing app should be able to export hour long videos.

I am trying something different now - exporting this monster video from our G-Technology GRAID (thunderbolt) to a USB drive (WD) - unfortunately i'm gonig to be here all night waiting for it if it works, but hey, it might work - so far so good. Perhaps there is some issue reading and writing from the same place?

It can export sequences > an hour…if software, OS and hardware are coexisting.

Going by what many others have reported, the frame number error doesn't necessarily provide useful information/

However, I don't understand what you're doing for a proposed fix…copying the file to a USB drive or exporting the problem project to a different drive?

Hey Russ,

I have all my fcpx stuff on a GTech RAID over thunderbolt and have been trying to export a movie from fcpx to a folder on that drive.

Seeing as it is flaking out all the time I figured I'd try export it to another external drive - but as it is over USB it is really slow. It seemed to be working but i can't wait all night for it to export that way (if it eventually worked anyway).

Now I'm back to trying to export 10 minute Pieces of the project and eventually will reimport them all and try to export them all together as one video.

This always happens when there is a deadline, I still can't believe it

I doubt your problems are the drives.

If you want to set aside 15 minutes (which may be wasted because it may not work), try this.

Trash preferences.

In the project window, select all and copy the entire sequence.

In the project library, right click the project and duplicate.

Open the new project and paste the old sequence.

(If I were in your situation, I'd also delete project render files, but that's your call.)

Try exporting.

You should know well within our 15 minute budget whether it's working as it should..

Good luck.

In my case, I have found you can blame the media clips. I could export a project just fine using the same media in iMovie than what fails in FCPX. I ended up convtering the native m2ts media that was causing the problem using Total Video Converter Lite (Free) to mov, then bring the clip back into FCPX and it will export. I used to use iFunia Media-Converter, but that stopped making FCPX friendly MP4 or MOV files after the video codecs system update from Apple which came out with FCPX 10.0.8.

can export a project, but not elegantly.

I did try to the uninstall/install/recreate project/delete render files. Every other work around I could find listed anywhere to no avail. Have RAM/HD space and CPU power out yazoo on a maxed out Mac Pro. Media and software update combo is bad. Used to work like a charm before 10.0.8

Good luck everybody.

Do I hear 10.0.9?

just encountered the same issue while using fcpx for our 48hr film festival project. Unfortunatly, I did not figure out the solution (just trash project render files from file menu, and then immediately re-export) until a few hours after the submission deadline. In retrospect the answer should have been easy to figure out, but no sleep for a few days affects the cognitive reasoning skills. **** YOU FCPX....the love/hate relationship continues on

Has to do with the media, I still get the errors despite the upgrade. I figure out which clip has issues by dividing conflicting frame by frame rate. I go to that clip in finder or event folder, run it through one of the free converters to HDmov, import back into FCPX and share out the project. As far as your question, my codecs more or less installed themselves from the update on the App Store.
