Payment processing is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

Hi all, I am trying to update my card details as need to update my apps and have an outstanding invoice to pay, when I update my details it tells me 'Payment processing is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.' Then when I go to the App Store online it says 'we're currently updating our store' could this be part of the same problem? I need to download my updates and can't and its very frustrating.


Also if it is the above then does anyone know when it will be available?

Maybe this will help everyone out.


DO NOT USE the iTunes App on your MacBook to update your credit card information. Go to the Apple Website via Safari or Chrome and Sign in with your Apple ID and Password. Go down to the area to manage your "Credit Card" information. Now go ahead and change your information there and save the changes. After you do that you should receive an email stating that you have updated your credit card. There you go. Fixed!

Please know it is advisable to update your billing information using a computer rather than an iOS device. If you want steps on how to update your information using a computer, please let me know and I'll be happy to provide the instructions.

there is a scary amount of threads relating to "Payment processing is temporarily unavailable" not to mention this thread is 5 months old.

Im currently locked out of the App Store, cant even buy free games as the buy button reads"Billing Info" and verifying billing details results in "Payment processing is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."

I'm from Australia as well, having the same issue.


Raised case with apple support and they said there is an issue with accessing my payment details and I should contact my bank.


Contacted my bank and was told there is an australia wide issue affecting credit card and eftpos payments, Multiple finiancial institutions affected, there is no ETA. Something to do with a backend payment gateway, not sure what that means exactly but sounds big.

Funny how you pick on my spelling then all of a sudden your last post is 'Edited by host' to have proper English and grammar. Btw I'm typing on an iPad, sorry if I miss a few grammar points. Not really writing an essay for an English exam.


And FYI as I say again, this isn't apples fault, there are numerous business around Australia that currently do not have eft pops capabilities, Woolworths is another, and a few local stores around me also. The payment gateway for a few banks that process Apples transactions are down. Apple can't help that.


I'm off to bed, I hope overnight you will maybe grow some patience and stop acting like a 5 year old.
