will apple tv "airplay" my avi files from ipad/phone/mac?

Apple TV is finally available in India and I have been wanting to buy this since a long time. I want to know if it will be able to AirPlay avi files from mplayerx or qtX using perian or from iOS media players like Azul to Apple TV to watch my media on my lcd?

also, will th audio and video be in sync?

Is this a mac apps tore app. I dont see it on the ios apps store. I do see another app called beamAir.
