How do I send a photo as a jpeg attachement and not embedded in the body of the email on an iphone?

I do I send a photo as a jpeg attachement and not have it show up embedded in the body of the email? I know this can be done because my friend has an iphone and sends photos as attachements. Thank you in advance!

I'm not sure how to zip it. My friend sends his the same exact way I send mine but his comes in as an jpeg attachement but mine is embedded in the body of the email. I was on the phone w/Apple Tech support for an hour and they said he's using a 3rd party app but he says he's not. He is on AT&T and I'm on Sprint but I wouldn't see how that would make a difference. I need to download these photos for work from the email. Thanks for you help though!

I would love to know this as well. After an hour of searching I still cannot find an answer. Plenty of people who will tell me how to email a photo, or claim I am crazy because NO attachment shows up in outlook, but no answers with a way to change the settings so it attaches as a jpeg instead of a useless pretty picture in the body of the email.

I know how to email the picture so it can be viewed. I need to know how to email it so it can be saved. I should not have to download an alternate email program, why can't apple make this an option!?

An attachment is an attachment . if it is displayed or not by the recipient's e-mail client is not under your control.

You can zip it (compress it) before sending it. if it's JPEG, zipping will not reduce the size (in fact, it's even possible it may increase it slightly), but most e-mail clients do not display what's inside a zip archive.
