will the iPhone 6.1.3 update slow down my iPhone 4?

I've been a little reluctant to update my iPhone 4 from ios 5.0.1 to 6.1.3 because I'm worried that it will severely slow down my phone. I had this problem happen to me before with my iPhone 3. Every time I updated the softwear, my phone got slower and slower. I like some of the new features of the recent updates to the iPhone softwear, but I'm just afraid that it will make the phone slower than it already is.

I'd love to get the new iPhone 5, but I recently lost my job and just can't afford it.

Add me to the list. iPhone 4s and every update since iOS 5 applied and no issues. So our odds are 2 out of 300 million! Cool!

He's not wrong. Apple updates are notorious for having major issues. This 6.1.3 has destroyed my wife's 3G data speeds, with no one taking blame for the problem.

Actually he is wrong. Apple's updates are actually quite a bit less likely to have major issues than most other developers. You people do a google search, find a thread with 1000 replies to it (half of which are duplicate posts) and assume it's a "major" problem. Even let's say 10,000 units affected would be less than 1%. Way less actually. So your points are moot. Try to get that consistancy with any other developer that has had any sample size worth mentioning.
