HOW TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO PC

I have an iphone 4S - and am trying to download photos to my pc (windows 7 -64bit).

I have also downloaded itunes.

When I plug my phone into my pc - it shows up in itunes - but it does NOT show up in my devices.

There is NO pop-up asking whether I want to import or view pictures.

How can I transfer photos to my pc??

Any help is appreciated.

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1.3

You truly had to respond to a thread that is a year and a half old to complain about getting photos off a device when all you have to do is the same way you get them off a digital camera? And what do you mean when you say you can't believe that this company can get away with this. Away with what?
