Yes, it is checked. My comment that Apple blocked Java on all the Mac's came from several news sources and from the posts in this site, it appears to be true to me. I have been frustrated by computer issues from time-to-time since the early '80's when I purchased my first computer...TI-99.
This issue takes the cake. Java did not cause the issue of access to Java. I didn't create the issue...Apple created the issue by being Big Brother and globally blocking Java.
Maybe it was the right decision...but it was not my decision. Now here I sit communicating with a lot of other well-intentioned users to resolve an issue that Apple created by blocking my access to Java. Where is the Apple experts who should be offering us assistance? They are sitting on their hands to protect the image and reputation of Apple (IMHO). (Maybe that is unfair?)
At least with the PC, I could do whatever stupid thing I wanted to do and then pay to recover from it. Somehow I muddled through all those years without Bill Gates shutting off access to programs like Java.
Anyway, I am beginning to like Firefox....
