What a mistake it was to upgrade to Mountain Lion.

So many little irritations that I will not go into them all. I sure wasn't aware that I would loose all of my mailboxes. I used them to store emails related to a given subject that I wanted to keep. I suppose I was naieve to think they were safe there. Can't retrieve anything because- again I was unaware that Time Machine would be erased and start new from the moment of installing Mountain Lion.

A couple of little irritations. 1. Can't get the mouse to work right. Really tough to highlite and almost impossible to grab and move a window without it immediately dissappearing into the dock - usually takes several tries just to grab and move a window. I have made many changes to the mouse in Preferences with only slight improvement. Other things seem like ML goes backwards. For example with SL the contents of a folder could be resized by a simple slider at the bottome of the window. Now I have to go to preferences and resize if I want to enlarge or shrink. What a genious move that was. Also the same folder in SL would show you how many items were in the folder. ML gives no info. There is more but suffice it to say IMO it is a lousy upgrade.

Yeah, i hear you bro, I had pretty funky situation with ML but now I love it, you will get the hang of it after a while, once you are accustomed and get used to ML - there will OS X 10.9.* will be in the market, they said the big cat is almost out of the bag probably in July??

10.8.4 beta has just been released to developers, so I can't see 10.9 coming out in July. That is just speculation, and against the TOU in these forums. So who are 'they' anyway?

If you look in the View menu, it gives an option to organize your mail by conversation. In this case beware that the subject line is used for this and in at least one case, where my name was used as the subject line, I had emails from my dentist and lawyer in the same conversation. It may also influence what gets trashed when you click on an email.

Most often the disk is ready to die anyway and any update/upgrade will just be the final straw. That is why is is so important to check your drive and system state before applying these updates. If 10.8.3 was so damaging, then why are only a couple of people out of the many million who installed it seeing a problem like yours?
