CUPS crashes all the time

Hi everyone,

I encountered a printer problem yesterday. I've got several printers installed on my Mac, as I don't use my Mac only at home. Yesterday I added my HP CP1525nw printer for wireless access (it has been used via USB before). It all was fine. A few minutes later I selected the box "Share printer ..." in the Printer & Scan Preference. And that's the point, where my problem starts off:

System Preferences froze and I got the eternal ball. Thus I made a "force quit" for System Preferences.

When I wanted to print a PDF, I realized that Preview got the eternal ball as well and didn't react any more. :-( So I opened System Preferences again, and after a while I could select the "Print & Scan" section which tells me that there are no printers installed. But in my Library folder I still can see my installed printers.

I figured out that CUPS doesn't work: I can't enter the CUPS interface on my browser. I finally could find that message from the error logs:

"com.apple.launchd: (org.cups.cupsd[1624]) Job appears to have crashed: Segmentation fault: 11

com.apple.launchd: (org.cups.cupsd) Throttling respawn: Will start in 9 seconds"

This message continues in the logs. Is there anyone who has got a clue to my problem?

Regards,

Bernd
