Hi md,

System Preferences > Personal > Dock

Test different settings, such as Automatically hide and show the Dock.

Click on the "?" at the bottom right to get Help on Dock preferences.

I hope this helps.

Ian.

Please update your profile to show what version of the operating system you are running, and your products (what machine you are using - I assume it is a MacBook because this is the MacBook Pro forum). Also, that will help theJoeShmoe (his 'other monitor' question). We can not see what you see.

when i go to the apple

Do you mean the Apple Menu > Dock > Dock Preferences?

Here is what I get:

Automatically hide and show the Dock is second from the bottom. If there is a tick in that box, the Dock will be hidden until you place the cursor at the very bottom of the screen. Then the Dock will appear. (Again, I must assume that your Dock Preferences are for the Dock to be positioned at the bottom.)

More information will help.

For example, this is my desk:

As you can tell, the dock menu is on the bottom of the big 30" screen.

And if I turn that monitor off, it will still be there only.

But -- if I want to move the dock menu to the monitor of my Macbook, then I need to go to settings, displays and drag the white bar to the correct monitor.

First it will look like this:

After it will be like this:

Hope this helps.
