This is helpful, many thanks indeed. I noticed that:
"...Apple officially supports a maximum of 4 GB of RAM. Originally, this model was only unofficially capable of stably supporting 6 GB of RAM, but as confirmed by site sponsor OWC, it is capable of supporting 8 GB of RAM if updated to Boot ROM Version MB51.007D.B03 and running MacOS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" or higher...."
Any idea what is Boot ROM Version? 10.6 is not a probwlm because I wAted to pinstall it in any case.
Boot ROM version is your Firmware.
Click on your Apple Logo - then about this mac - system report - it will take you to hardware overview - have a look at your version to see if you have the latest firmware installed.
Well, I do have this version installed in my MacBook! Thank you! So the only thing missing is 10.6. Shd buy 8GB or 10.6 at first?
Get 10.6 first then RAM after. Or, you can go 10.6 then update to 10.6.8 then go with Mountain Lion and see how it runs - if it's very slow - then get the RAM.
www.crucial.com (EU) wants to sell me 4GB only:
However, I want 8GB! How can I find the right one?
