How can I recover deleted notes from my iPhone 4s?

I took notes in my class using the app on my iPhone but a week later when I went back to the notes it was deleted and gone. I know it was on my phone because I looked over it after class. Is there any way to recover it? I looked on my icloud but there was nothing on there.

I NEVER comment on these forums, but in this case I just have to....I was just putting notes into my iPhone 4S and all of a sudden I noticed several were missing. I read this and looked at my Yahoo account from my computer and there they were!! I couldn't believe it - thank you! I don't know how how or why that happened, but I'm happy that I found them, thanks again!

I thought I'd lost my notes, too. I also have an iPad mini, and noticed the notes app icon and clicked on it. What was more obvious on the iPad was that there are different accounts; in other words, it had different sets of notes saved under different email accounts. My missing notes were saved under my icloud account, although I didn't consciously ever put the notes under any separate account. They were visible when I clicked "All Notes," too. It turns out that the phone had a different account set as the default. I changed the default on the iPhone, and there they were. I took screen shots so the notes are saved in my photos, too. This was a lot easier than checking through a lot of backups. I hope that helps. I will post this on a couple of threads I see in Apple communities. I see it's a pretty common problem.

Thank you so much. Last week, I had serious yahoo mail issues. I'd forgotten that I'd deleted yahoo mail and added it again. Thus turning off notes in the mail settings (notes was not enabled on email). Thank you for posting this. Your comments saved me from buying expensive recovery software that I could only see using this one time. You also saved me from a long system retore on my iphone which may have caused me to lose unsaved data. This is the easiet way to get your deleted notes compared to the alternatives.

Deleted, lost notes on iphone 5

On your iPhone:

1) Settings

2) Mail, Contacts, Calendars

3) Gmail>turn Notes On

4) Then to All of my other email accounts and checked the notes were on. I.e, iCloud, Yahoo, etc.

Thank you Pachimolina.

Maybe you haven't turn on iCloud backup setting before, so you find nonthing on iCloud. But you still can recover notes from iPhone via iTunes backup. Launch iTunes on the computer and go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices. You will see a window with all of your backups listed in it. You can follow the official guide for more details:

Back up and restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support

Note: recover from iTunes backup will erase your original data on your device😀.
