After resetting factory defaults on iPad I too cautiously didn't allow Facebook to access my photos on my iPad. Now I can't work out how to authorise it. In settings neither app can see the other. Any advice gratefully received

Go to Settings > Privacy > Photos and allow Facebook to access photos.

As first step, go on Settings of oyur IPad by pressing the appropriate icon on your "home screen".
Now select the voice "Privacy" > "Photos" from the menu that showed you, find the Facebook App and moves the stick on the right to allow it.
