Thanks Krishan108,

I figured that out when i was searching for something else on my phone. I guess there is some comfort knowing my notes are still there. you can also start a new note after you open an old note that way. I found the Date (dates) block that the corrupt note is in so I don't scroll that far.

I sure wish someone would find a fix that doesn't involve restoring my phone and starting over. That's all I can find for an answer if nothing else works.;(

Like you said if we were able to delete the app, and re-download it, that would be pretty nice. I wish we were able to delete all apps. Some of the permanent apps on the phone are completely useless to me.

This is solution from Thunderseals. It solves my problem.

I had the EXACT same problem and nothing worked. I finally fixed it by:

1. Shutdown all applications

2. Go to options and go to iCloud

3. Turn on ICloud for notes.

4. Create the necessary ID, etc

5. Shutdown your IPad

6. Turn it back on and start up notes

I did not want to set it to iCloud and I intend to turn it off soon enough, but for now my notes come up without any problem at all.

I hope this works for you as there seems to be no discussions on how to fix this particular problem.

Cheers

I've been having the same problem - Notes app crashes immediately after opening it.

I did notice very recently that some recent notes appeared to be duplicated in the list.

I found an alternate solution. However my situation may be a bit different than others

in two ways: I'm on iOS 5.1.1 (on an iPhone 4S) and I have tons of notes. I do not

have iCloud turned on.

I found from reading above that if I did a phone search I could reach individual notes.

However if I tried to add or edit a note when I tapped "Done" the app crashed and

the change was lost.

My solution was to start deleting some notes. Apparently I had reached some limit.

Like I said I have lots of notes - 100's maybe 1000's. But now after clearing some

out I can create new notes and the app behaves normally again.

So if your Notes app is crashing, you might try just deleting some notes. Good luck!

hi there

I had the same problem mentioned here about notes file duplication and not able to use notes so I follow some here recommendations and I went to settings, Icloud and select "on" the notes icon in icloud and the problem was solved now I enter notes and all my files are there. BTW to enter Icloud u need to have an Icloud user name and password.

Thank you vonivita. I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 7.1.2 and when I tried to copy my latest note to email it, the note remained blue and the Notes App crashed. I could not get the App to open again and while I tried the suggestions of others (Full reset, Searching for a note and using SIRI), I could not get the App to restore, although I could search for any specific note. I also tried the recommended full factory 'Reset All Settings", as recommended on the iPad thread and all I did was lose my settings (background / screen saver etc).

Your suggestion to go to: Settings>iCloud>turn on Notes backup, restored notes completely for me.

I checked the last offending note and did a quick correction (added a space) to ensure that it was no longer highlighted blue and all is back to normal.

Thank you so much for finding this solution. A quick search of the Apple discussions suggests that problems with Notes are reasonably common on iOS devices for a number of years, with little advice on how to restore.

Dear All,

This usually happens if there is a "fault notes", in your Notes App (in your iPhone).

Don't ask me how it get there, but it happens.

This is what I did and it works. There is no need for phone reset or any restart.

1) Close all applications on your iPhone.

2) Login to icloud.com

3) Click on Notes (You might not be able to see any notes now because one of the "faulty notes" is crashing the app).

4) Just click "Create a new note". Create a new note and leave it there. Sign-out.

5) Go back to your iPhone and start the Notes App again.

6) Wallaaa... you can see it working again, like a charm.

Thanks

Today, my phone does the same thing and I can't use notes. I open notes and then after a few seconds you can see the a circle appear and swirl, then the app closes.

I have done a soft reboot and a hard reboot.

I think the problem is when it connects to the server. I am going to put it in airplane mode and try that next. I will let you know what happens.
