after syncing to the new updated itunes i had to re sync all my ringtones but itunes gray's them out and i can't click on them... tried dragging file from desktop w no luck... if i double click file on desktop it plays in itunes, but can't click it to play in itunes and not showing up on my phone in ringtones!!! so ******! give me back my ringtones itunes!!!

I think if you go to itunes and then select tones from the left column and right click you get the option of having itunes locate just exactly where on your drive you have the tones in question. The reason they are gray is that itunes cannot find where you have placed them on your computer
did that once but they went gray again and now it's not giving the option any more.
any other solutions?????
Are you using PC or MAC?
When you have itunes open on the PC and you go to library and select Tones in the left colum what is displayed in the window to the right?
they are all there and i can play them from itunes, but when i click tones under my device in the left column the one synced tone i want shows but it is gray and wont play then it gets a circle with an exclaimation point inside next to it.
When you select you phone in the left colum then go to the window on the right and make sure the box beside SYNC TONES is ticked

When you select tones under library in itunes right click on one of the tones in the window on the right and then click on Show in windows explorer. Make sure the one tone you wan that you said was on your desktop is in the same folder as the one you had windows explorer show for you. After you have done that select you phone in the left column and in the window on the right select the TONES tab then tick SYNC TONES box at the top of the window and make sure all the boxes beside the listed tones are ticked. Then click on SYNC in the bottom right of the window
I think you just contact iTunes through your iTunes account.
They may ask for a list of songs, but they should have it since you have purchased them, I'm assuming you purchased them all through the same iTunes account.
The OP said he had the tone on his desktop and tried to drag it so I fail to see the itunes account relevance
done and still not working... itunes ***** they think they can own everything!!!!! and we are at their mercy... never updating again!!!
Where did you get the ringtone from?
ok i deleted it from tones in my library and dragged it back in then dragged it to my device in the left column and there it is!!!
itunes stole my ringtones!
