Can't log into my apple ID

I'm unable to log into my app store from my McBook and can't sign into my FaceTime, it shows following error message 'the server encountered an error processing registration'. Can somebody please help.

Do you get any sort of error message when you try to log into the App Store? Perhaps the problem is your Apple ID...

Try the Apple ID support folks... http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/.

You may want to also try the Mac App Store support folks... http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/.

I think that both of your problems can be resolved by making certain that you're using your correct Apple ID - the same ID that you used to log into this forum.

No! It did not resolve the issue. Then I thought my firewall could be the problem, chekced firewall settings and connections from app store and facetime are allowed in the firewall settings.... looks like the problem is more serious. I might have to take back-up of my entire McBook and reinstall everything as the guy at applecare said 😟 not looking forward to that but there is no other option, i think!

Thanks for your support.

If you create a test user account through system preferences do you get the same issue?

System Pref's

- Users and Groups

- Unlock the lock onthe bottom left corner and add a new Admin account

- Log into it and test

Remember to log out of the test account and remove it when you log into your usual account.

If the issue is only in the one account then erasing and reinstalling the OS is not really necessary and restoring your user account from a Time Machine backup will likely restore the issue as well.
