Using Macbookpro International

I will be using a MBP in Asia next week. I heard the power volt usage is higher than the US. Is there a power supply, perhaps a converter that I need to buy at a mac store? Or do I get the power voltage converter in Asia?
Any ideas?

No power conversion needed for most international travel, since your power adapter works on 100-240 V AC (a couple of exceptions are places like South Africa and Argentina, where the line current is DC so you'd need an inverter to convert to AC). You just need the proper adapter for the plug. You can buy Apple's World Travel Kit for $39( http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wo/2.RSLID?mco=4 7FFCC51&nplm=M8794G%2FB) which are a set of plugs that directl connect to your power adapter (insert into the two-prong pulg/extension cord slot). Alternatively, you can go to a travel store or even Radio Shack and get the specific plug adapter (e.g. Franzus) for the countries you're traveling to for ~$6 each. The Apple kit works only with your Mac power supply, the plug adapters from a travel store work with other chargers (just about all battery chargers (for digital cameras, camcorders, etc.) accept 100-240 V - they'll state that on the brick itself.

Have a great trip!

How dangerous to a MBP are voltage
fluctuations/spikes? I will be travelling there as
well, and I know for a fact that the electricity in
the area I'm going to be in is very tempermental, is
there anything I can do to protect it and if
something happens to it because of electricity or
voltage fluctuations..is that applecare covered?

Use a good power block with surge protection and then put a 'local' power adaptor on it is my best suggestion.

(I had a PC laptop fry in Thailand once and it wasn't nice)

This stuff is not covered by Apple Warranty.
