i cant take it to a store i bought it online so they
will need to pick it up and service it?
You can usually get it repaired at your local store.
You can only return it to the Apple Store since you purchased it from Apple.
But, any local Apple store or Authorized Apple Service Provider can repair it for you under warranty.
So, you can go either route.
Generally, you'll probably get faster service with a local repair shop for something like this.
But, if they refuse, then you can always go with Apple.
Most likely you would be told by Apple to take it to your local service center for visual inspection and repair.
But, I would call Apple, have them give you a case number, and then go to the local store. If Apple pre-authorizes the work with a case number, then you will have fewer potential arguments with the local store.
Most of the time, the local store wouldn't give you a problem. But, some techs are more difficult than others.
So, if the store is open now, I'd stop in.
If they're not open now, then I'd call Apple first thing in the morning, and start working from that direction.
And, if Apple provides you with a Case number, then see if they will let you have it serviced locally (most likely yes).
Something like this should just be a matter of loosening the hidden screws and tightening them down again after adjustment. If you can avoid the week or two wait for mailing it back and forth, then I would.
Depending on the attitude of the employee's and how busy the store is, they might fix it while you wait. Some will just go in the back, tweak it, and bring it right back to you at the counter. Others will even do it in front of you.
It all depends on who you are fortunate enough to work with.
Either way, take it in or call. I'm sure they'll get you fixed-up.
