iPod not able to be charged?

My ipod is not able to be charged. I've tried to plug the charger into different ports and the ipod doesn't recognise it. I think this may be my fault; I don't remember but I think I overcharged it. My ipod is dead too...I can't turn it on. What do I do?

Info:

I purchased my ipod 4g august 12'

Not Charge

- See:

iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting

- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.

- Try another charging source

- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

- Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.
