I have a Security Bridge, Why is my Ex able to view my iMessage after I Constantly Change my password... Plus we live 1000s of miles apart?

Why is my ex able to view my iMessages?

I only own a Mac book and an iPhone, she used her Ipad to guess my password and was able to log into my Imessage, I found that out and changed my password both on Imessage, Apple ID, Facebook, Email the works, But she can still view my Imessage,

Once I log out of Imessage and restart, why can't it log me out of all devices?

This is complete violation of my privacy, and its a majoy flaw ON APPLE'S part,

I only have two Apple devices at this moment both are registered with my Apple ID, that should be a red flag if another devices, especially one that is 10, 000 miles away from me is log into my IMessage at the same time as I am

Whats the solution?

Sorry for the typo... I meant Breach

We had a home computer and used a single password years back,

When I created my apple id I only changed some of the charaters to Cap but same password

She guessed that and was able to log into my imessage using an Ipad, I know this because she contacted my friends and copy paste the conversation between me and them... word for word,

I changes my Apple Id password, logged out, changed all my account password and today she was able to tell me about conversation I had with Friends, whom had no connection with her

I think because she was able to log into Imessage once, and now, all my messages appears on her Ipad...

, I am on vacation in the West indies and is logged into my imessage, Should't Apple reconized that two devices in different location is logged into the same Imessage, Especially when I logged in and out and changed my password?

I meant see if you can find her iPad. If it is logged in with your AppleID, and Find My ...was enabled, then you can wipe it clean from www.icloud.com.

However, changing the account password should have forced her to enter a new password.

What service are you using to pass messages? AIM, Google talk, or iMessage. If it is not iMessage, then you'll need to change the passwords on any other chat service you use.

Unless there's a previously unknown bug in iMessage, your messages could not be read by anyone who doesn't know the Apple ID password. That brings us back to the possibility of compromised security questions. To rule that out, log in to your Apple ID account, change the questions, and then change the password again:

Apple - My Apple ID

Sign out of iMessage on all devices and then sign back in with the new password.

Hi,

I am on vacation in the West Indies and is logged into my iMessage, Should't Apple recognized that two devices in different location is logged into the same iMessage

That part is exactly what the app is supposed to do.

The idea is you can continue a conversation by taking an iPhone and/or iPad with you when you can't take your computer.

The iMessages will sync across all devices.

From personal experience the Mac Version will "Catch up" on iMessages and sync those sent from at least two days before. (it may be longer but I have not tested)

I have not seen any other Posts with this issue (apart from where people do use the same Apple ID) where iMessage appear on other devices. (I read all posts tagged with the Messages Category and the iChat Community).

I, too, cannot see how she is able to see your iMessages.

Well, the design works wonderfully...

The problem is, once you changes the Apple ID password, security questions, and logged out of Imessege

from one of your Main registered devices,

All the device registered with your Apple should require you to reenter the Credential at least once before

fully using the Unique features, just as a extra layer of security,

Apple constantly upgrades their product and sinces customers are also constantly changing to the latest

version, for example 4s to 5 or Older generations of Ipad to Retina Display, One should have the ability to

be able to log their ID out of all devices when they want to change their Crendential without worring that all their information will now forever be view by somebody else....

In my case, My ID and password was stolen, and after I changed my password, test questions and logged out of Imessage, it still didn't make a difference.... My private imessage are still being viewed...

Sir I hope you understand where I am coming from...?

I thought it did require that action. I've changed my Apple ID a couple of times and I'm sure my other devices would retrieve messages etc before logging back in and just as importantly I always use random passwords - by Random I mean exactly that, random. Not just a word that is M0d1fi3d with numbers and capital letters.

Do you have a password manager that she knows about?

Once you've changed your credentials I'm sure every time the iDevice or Mac connects it needs to authenticate and would therefore trip up immediately. Something else has to be happening here?

Gumsie,

Thats great advice,

I do use random charaters for my passwords, by a password generator,

I am actually well knowledge on the subject matter, iT that is, I design programs and build websites... I know Apple OS is one of the secure systems out there,

My ex entering my accoount the first time was completely my fault. I gived her the password to my

home computer and all I did was change the first charactor to cap for my Apple ID,

What was puzzling was after I change my security questions and password....

with in just hours of talking to my friends, she texts me exactly who I was talking to and what I was talking about

Spooky huh...?

Since she didn't log out of Imessage, my theory is that her Ipad is still getting my Imessages as if it was me...

What do you think?

Apr 17, 2013 5:46 AM in response to ozeon

Sorry, I noticed a typo above. It should read..... I'm sure my other devices would NOT retrieve messages etc before logging back.

I'm suggesting that even if she didn't log out of iMessage that she should still have to authenticate again as the server details would be refused immediately if you changed the pswd.

I could be wrong of course.
