I have a Security Bridge, Why is my Ex able to view my iMessage after I Constantly Change my password... Plus we live 1000s of miles apart?

Why is my ex able to view my iMessages?

I only own a Mac book and an iPhone, she used her Ipad to guess my password and was able to log into my Imessage, I found that out and changed my password both on Imessage, Apple ID, Facebook, Email the works, But she can still view my Imessage,

Once I log out of Imessage and restart, why can't it log me out of all devices?

This is complete violation of my privacy, and its a majoy flaw ON APPLE'S part,

I only have two Apple devices at this moment both are registered with my Apple ID, that should be a red flag if another devices, especially one that is 10, 000 miles away from me is log into my IMessage at the same time as I am

Whats the solution?

I am with you there, gumsie

thats was my understanding, that when credential are changed, all devices should be logged out off or should require it,

But actually, my Iphone didn't log me out of Imessage or didn't require me to reenter my new password I am asuming her Ipad did the same... I see in my settings my Apple ID is there with my Old password still here...

This is odd

@ Davis, thats true, I have no intent in forcing her... She feels very clever entering into my Account and reading my personal messages, She will not sign out if her life depended on it... : )

I will contact apple, I just thought I would have gotten a solution on this forum

I think my theory is very solid.... Because my Iphone attached to my Apple ID didn't require me to re enter my password and I see in my settings here, that it still shows my old password... and My Iphone still automatically receives my Imessages...

Hi,

Just to clarify the issue clearly.

Your suggestion is that if on one device you log out of iMessages and remove the Current ID and then change the password on the Apple ID that, on re-entering the ID on that device does not log out other devices - forcing them to use the new password ?

The Apple ID I use is the same one I use to Login in here to Post in Apple Support Communities.

As I at one time wanted to look up something on the Developers side of things I now get told to update my password fairly frequently.

I was prompted to change all the devices.

In fact I had not gotten to my iPad until I was thinking about this.

The last person I iMessaged was my wife over this weekend which does not show up in the iPad once I added the new password (the Chat also has not risen to the top).

My experience does not match your suggestion.

Ralph,

That may very well be the case,

and I truly believe that's exactly what suppose to happen

But I can tell u with all confidence that, after I changed my Apple ID password, The Only device which

prompted me to add my new password to Imessage was my Mac book pro, my iphone at this very moment stills gets my Imessages and I haven't changed the password on it to match my new Imessage

I am trying to find all the reason besides security issue as to how she is able to read my message, and If its something I did, I like to correct it to stop this from happening...

This is not to suggest that Apple security is weak, maybe I am doing something wrong... But I am confident in what is happening... and that needs to be look into...

Hi,

Obviously on starting up the Messages app you are asked for an Apple ID for the iMessages account.

Certain Apple IDs can also be used as Valid AIM Screen Names and you can use the ID to Add an AIM account to Messages.

However changing the password at Apple would also require you to change the AIM Account passwords (as well as the iMessage one) in the app.

However if your Apple ID is an external email such as Google then you would have two passwords for it.

One at Google and one at Apple.

Changing it at Apple for the iMessages account will not cover you if you are also using it in Messages from a Jabber/Google Buddy list.

However you do seem to be fairly clear this is about the iMessages account.

I still feel the reply you marked as "Correct" by Linc Davis is the most likely scenario.
