Dock: Can't move icons (already moved com.apple.dock.db)

This did the trick! I had clicked and dragged many times, and the app didn't move from the dock. When I clicked on the app, and at the top left corner, Quit the app, it disappeared from the dock. I didn't even need to click and drag it again. Quitting it seemed to give permission to perform the removal.

I had the same issue and chatted with Apple Support twice for 30 mins but no success... However, finally, I just figured it out by myself although I'm not sure if you still have the same issue. When I drag icons from Dock to new place, at the same time, I keep pressing Shift key. It allows me to move icons/apps around Dock.

Sorry that my previous reply was not useful. I just figured it out by myself that just quickly moving around apps in Dock (instead of holding for a couple of seconds) really solves my issue 🙂

I had this same problem too. It's a bit too late to reply but for the benefit of others who might need this in the future, this is what I found. Press and hold the right key on the mouse on the icon you are trying to remove and you should be given the option to hide it. Hope that helped. 🙂

i had the same issue i cleared the ~/Libarary/Caches

& restart working good now
