Can I go to a Genius Bar appointment for my iphone 4 even if the phone is not in my name ?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section. My iphone 4 is in my moms name & she is unable to go directly to the apple shop. I use the phone but the contract is not in my name. Can I still go to the appointment instead ? The phone has a "acid" smell coming from it & the battery refuses to charge properly. Would the battery be replaced ? I've had it less than 1 year.

Yes. This will fall within the 1 year Warranty. The Warranty is attached with the iPhone itself, not the person. So make your Genius reservation and take it in for evalutation.

Yes, as Brad said, the warranty isn't tied to a person's name, so you can take the iPhone in yourself.
