Hi all, this may be only for my Windows 7 machine but I thought I would update this posting tonight just in case. Had the same cannot connect (-50) issues with my Windows 7 machine but was able to log in just fine on my iMAC and on other freshly installed Windows 7 systems with itunes.

The solution for me was to re-enable some services that I had (yes, foolishly disabled a few years back on this Windows 7 system, specifically Peer Name, Peer Ne, Peer net ID, Windows Firewall (yes I did), Win Media Player Net Share, and Win HPTTP Proxy, and IP Helper.

Once I re-enabled these services (and rebooted) when launching itunes I got the Windows Firewall has blocked "yadda yadda yadda" do you want to allow? I of course said "yes", and after that was able to Sign in to the itunes store successfully.

Realize that this may be unique to my situation but figured it was worth a posting if others were having issues with Windows 7 and had "messed with" their Services like I did.
