Lost Playlists with upgrade

I recently upgraded to newest version of itunes. Now I can't see my 14 playlists on Itunes that show up currently on my Ipod classic. If I sync, will the playlists go back to the itunes on my computer? Thanks for the help.

iPod classic (120 GB), Windows XP Pro

I moved the folders as you suggested and deleted some of the duplicates and now all is well. I think you may have solved my problem once again. 😁
