There is an adaptor for the Retina, Thunderbolt to Ethernet.

You could just leave it until it completes (probably overnight) even using Ethernet there will a significant time involved, and if the WiFi transfer has already started there will be a mess to clean up after the switch to a different connection (which requires starting over)

USB = 480MB/s

WiFi = 54MB/s (if you are lucky)

Ethernet = 100MB/s or 1000MB/s depending on your connection (slowest end wins)

You can restart the process via wifi and let it run.

Before you start another transfer check that there is not a partial user account resulting from the aborted transfer attempt. If there is delete the user before you migrate, otherwise you'll have 3 users on the mac, 2 of which will need to be removed.

You should not do that, it makes it impossible for you to use Stup Assistant, which is what you should be using instead of Migration Assistant!

Slow down a bit, you are doing this your way, and it is wrong.
