April 22, just installed the latest update to fix the Java problem, it does not work.

About a week ago I installed a MAC update. I discovered that I was unable to play POGO games. I know that is not up there with all other uses of MAC... let's get back on track here. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, and reset preferences at least 6 times to get JAVA back.

Java for OS X 2013-003 get applet from Oracle

My Intel MAC circa 2009, is running MAC OS X Lion 10.7.5 Safari 6.0.4

Today I received another update from Apple stating it would provide the answer to POGO 6 and you can select certain sites that can be accessed.

This also was a FAIL!

I now know the steps, can access TERMINAL without shaking, have learned to use GO to access UTILITIES. I still end up with JAVA not recognizing that their software has a place in my heart and I truly hope on my computer soon.

I have been playing a horrible game of Solitaire on another site.

Are there others out there with this problem or is it just me? Can anyone suggest anything else?

baltwo,

Thank you for your work on this problem. I'm going to contact Electronic Arts and see what they can come up with now. I can let them know that I have the latest Java available on the MAC and that it is installed. I will get back to you and give you the green checkmark, but I'm waiting to see if the other person helping on this has been able to get online with POGO. He also will deserve the check mark! I'm afraid if I checkmark solved too early this might shut down my last lead. It has been nice working with you.

BDAqua,

Thank you so much for your help. I have been on that site for more years than I can remember. I really didn't remember having to sign on originally, but I guess that I did. I am now paying for a service that I can't use -- I think it is time to cancel it for real!

You and baltwo have been extremely helpful. I am going to consider this case closed. I think Apple and Electronic Arts need to figure out another patch or two or else I'm going to have to go PC (never). Thank you again. I didn't realize I can only say "solved my question" once. You both solved it.

That is probably part of their plan. The other problem is that neither company wants to admit that it is their problem. That has been going on forever. Having someone who can help you online is so much better than the telephone support that you would call and remain online for hours to have them tell you it was AOL's problem, AOL would say it was Apple's problem. I am really thankful that with more people using MAC's other companies at least recognize that it is a different operating system.

Thank you again.
