Can't Edit Song Info(greyed out)

Ok I know a simple solution to the issue I have stated above. The whole right click, show in windows explorer and uncheck the "read only," and it will then enable me to change the song info. However I am growing aggitated with having to manually do this upon each download. It only appears to do this with a torrent folder file. I want to know how to change a setting in which read only will NEVER be checked again. It was never being checked before 2 days ago. Now however, every song or folder downloaded automatically checks as read only. Please don't give any feedback that states what I've already attempted.

There is the case also of special permissions that have been set.. & for me nothing I did allowed me to change the 'read only' settings to windows folders (they kept being re-applied). This isn't the real issue or culprit here though, because when I moved or deleted the file(s), windows didn't complain that they were 'read only'. In any event, what worked for me was changing to 'manually manage music and videos' (click apply), then editing 'On this Ipod' (update info and tags). Info should not be greyed out now. Next go into 'Artists' and make the same change, so unfortunately you have to make to changes. This is just a work-around, as it is an apple bug to be sure (but it worked for me). Itunes isn't good software, they want to capitalize too much, and have lost focus on quality! Incidentally, you may very well not be able to sync (esp new music) in 'manually manage music and videos' so you'll now have to change it back to 'sync only checked songs and videos' (unchecking manually manage). If you have any other work-arounds here, please post it up.

Hi 'turningtest2"
I tried what you said and it allowed me to do it all up until the last step where it than told me that "error applying security"
which was followed by the song title and "failed to enumerate objects in container. Access is denied"
When I pressed continue the same message popped up with every song title in the folder, any idea how to get around this?
Thank you.
