How long ipod touch 5G HD video playback in real time?

I just bought ipod touch 5g last 2 week... for ebookreading, music and hd video. Apple claimed that video playback is 8 hours and i test it in real time, fully charge, brightness 1/3, no wifi, no notification, sound 50%, disable push email and other and close all apps...

here result for video playback using AVplayer, video resolution 1280x720p

test 1. 5.35 hours

test 2. 5.15 hours

test 3. 5.43 hours

anyone surpass 6 hours video playback or even get 8 hours same as apple claimed?

is it normal or something problem with my ipod?

I heard alot of comment about Ipod 5G baterry problem, mostly red edition. Mine is pink edition. They just complain about massive draining of baterry even in sleep mode. Wifi and video surely killing the ipod less than 3-4 hours.

I just wonder not using apple default app like music or video and play video from other source (beside itunes store) also cause alot of baterry usage? just wonder and that why i specified the app and video i use in the test.

Someone had same problem as mine, he just send back to apple and get a new one, after that his ipod full of awesomeness and durability than before. Already ask apple people about this, and they just qoute:

6.Testing conducted by Apple in August 2012 using preproduction iPod touch hardware and software. The playlist contained 358 unique audio tracks consisting of content imported from CDs using iTunes (128-Kbps AAC) and content purchased from the iTunes Store (256-Kbps AAC); video content was purchased from the iTunes Store. iPod units were associated to a Wi-Fi network; all other settings were default. Battery tests are conducted with specific iPod units; actual results may vary. Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles and may eventually need to be replaced (www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/battery). Battery life and number of charge cycles vary by use and settings. See www.apple.com/batteries for more information.

just asking help what should i do with my ipod, that all, should i do more test using default video app or just satisfy with the ipod baterry life or send back for a new one?

Update

This is my new test result, all same as above (using AVplayer, brightness 1/3, no notification and other),

except video resolution 624x352 23 frame/s (not 720P/1080P HD video)

Until iPod totally give up n need to charge to switch on and take printscreen. (Just 1 test, bz week for dis time consuming test)

Tip & Solution:

Never ever play HD video (720P or 1080P) on your iPod bcos it just draining the battery alot (since iPod screen is not HD 1136x640) , 2 hours difference between HD video above and nonHD video for 2x smaller resolution video can be a proof i think. What apple claimed 8 hours video playback is true as long as you xplay hd video on your iPod.

Solution for this problem, convert all HD video from other source to iPod screen size,User uploaded file

or just play video from iTunes source since all video already been compress to fit the iPod screen when you download it.

Hope u guys can test it yourself and post it here to share the result...
