Write Danish on english ipad keyboard

Hi guys

I'm thinking about buying an ipad and a clamcase. Right now I can't get the case with a Danish layout (scandinavian).

This is the case

http://clamcase.com/

Is it possible to make shortcut keys on a ipad keyboard (US layout) like on a MacBook Pro. My sister and her american bought macbook air, presses the Alt key and A, and she gets Å.

I think that's hos it works, I can't really remember, but I hope you get the point.

I need to write a lot in both in Danish and English for work, so the case is pretty useless if I can't make character shortcuts.

But I love the design of that case.

Thanks

Any standard external bluetooth keyboard will work just like your sister's MacBook Pro and make accented characters via the option/alt shortcuts. This is determined by the software inside the iPad.

Spellcheck would be more complicated, however, as that is determined by the iPad's keyboard. So you can type the Danish characters, but spellcheck will be for English, so you would want to turn it off probably. If you switch to the Danish internal keyboard to get the right spellcheck, I think your hardware keyboard may behave like a Danish layout (with results different than what is printed on the keys).

But the keys produce exactly what's printed on them. Unless I'm misunderstanding something in your approach, I know that when I choose Swedish characters for Swedish on my iPad, I use the language chooser key (see below), and those characters appears in Swedish on my keyboard. When I go back to U.S. English, everything is back in U.S. English. I do it quite a bit when typing something to someone who understands both languages.

You are talking about the ipad's internal screen keyboard. The OP Nerdfield is asking about how to use an external bluetooth keyboard, like that found in the Clamcase, to type Danish, even when that external keyboard has only the normal English letters printed on it. If you read his second posting, it says "I'm thinking of an external keyboard like a blutooth keyboard with no Æ, Ø or Å."
