my iPhone 5 doesnt see my MacBook Pro via Bluetooth

Anyone have any idea or steps or fixes to my bluetooth issue? While at the office, I was trying to tether my MacBook Pro to my iPhone 5 via bluetooth. My MacBook will see my phone, I attempt to pair, PassCode comes up on both devices, numbers match, but then my phone will say " The Bluetooth network is unavailable. There was an error connecting to your device's network. Make sure network access is enabled and available on your device" . I have checked my WFI network, Bluetooth network, and Personal Hotspot - Everything is set to "on" - I have reset the network connections on my phone - and I have also restarted my MacBook and reset the PRAM (press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys) but no change... this is quite frustrating.

HELP Please....

I had the same problem - both mac and iphone see each other but both say network unavailable. Have tried reseting network, switching on and off, and forgetting network, but nothing helped.

Finally, I turned off wi-fi on mac as well as on iphone leaving only BT on, and i had a chance to have a proper connection (both devices said connected) for literally 1-2 seconds, after that it said connection unavailable.

Nevertheless, it was enough time to pair ikeyboardremote (I opened ikeybrd initially and clicked pair when i had a 1-2 secs connection between mac and iphone) and voila, it did pair and established connection, so I'm able to use mac to control music on iphone. Turned wifi back on, and it still works fine. Anyways, I blame ios 7 upgrade for my iphone 4 because with ios 6 I had no problem with bluetooth.

This did NOT help me. My iPhone 5 says "Connection Unsuccessful, Make sure 'MBP' is turned on and is in range," which, of course, it is.
Laptop says "Network is unavailable. Make sure network access is enabled," which, of course, it is.
I've turned everything off/on, recreated Bluetooth PAN networks all to no avail.
Bluetooth File Exchange is a viable app, have used it before OS X upgrades.
YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED
