how to turn off apple logo on screen lid of mac book air

The "apple" logo on the back of my MBA screen doesn't turn off.

I want to switch it off to save energy (and also because it's pointless to have it on)......and , yese, I know it's not gonna save me any money, but it's just a waste of energy.

Thank all

Just think about it this way... the backlight is what lights up your display... it's basically a light behind your display. The Apple logo is just a cut out in your cover that allows that same light to shine through. Then they pop in the pastic Apple logo. So, as everyone has said, it's not using any extra power because it's using the same light that's used for your display.

So many clever clog’s on this thread...” it’s part of the backlight to your screen thus it does not waste energy!” they exclaim ! Ermmm well if it’s not taking away from the brightness to illuminate the screen, it’s excess light wasting energy for no reeason. You can’t use energy for one purpose and get free use for something else ! It would be more light for the lcd if it was reflected back to the display. That it is not means that there is some inefficiency, and there is a waste ultimately that cannot be turned off. Nothing comes without cost !
