Video_TS Folders and file compatability

Hello, Why is it that my Imac will not recognize the files inside Video_TS folders, such as the .VOB and .BUP files? These are normal DVD files that I know work in Windows but then again I am new to the world of Mac's. Is something I need to open them?

You will need to use a program like VLC to play the .VOB files since the Mac DVD Player program will not. VLC is a very nice open-source - and free - player to have since it plays so many different formats.

I play my Video_TS folders using DVD player, a standard program on you Mac.

Just open the program and from the File menu select "Open DVD Media" - navigate to the Video_TS folder and select it. It should play just as if you had the DVD in the drive.

What do you guys use to rip the DVDs onto the hardrive in the first place? I am new to this so just wondering what there is...

MacTheRipper is a great program and freeware too!
