Personal Hotspot with TPG Australia

When is Apple going to "approve" Data Tethering on the iPhone with service provider TPG.

TPG allow Tethering, but Apple have not approved TPG as being able to use the included "Person Hotspot".

I would also suggest this is highly unethical maybe unlawful for apple to impose their will upon Australian Service Providers and its Customers in this way.

I feel that a case could be lodged under Australian "Anti-competition" laws.

Such policies are open to corruption, by way of collusion between Hardware Manufacturers and Service Providers.

Also, regardless of what Policy Apply may impose upon its customers,

Questions:

1. Is there any plan to fix this problem on the RoadMap?

2. Why is it Apple's right to control access to Mobile Data Tethering?

3. When is this unethical practice going to stop!

Ive had to VOID MY warranty and Jail Break the iPhone so that I can access a service that is

available to me, within the policy statement of my provider but BLOCKED BY APPLE !

So Im going to ask very very nicely ... Could APPLE please FIX THIS breach.

Before you go any further, understand you are not addressing Apple here. We are users just like you, here to answer technical support questions?

What you have asked are questions about Apple policies, and under the terms of service here, we cannot discuss what people may think are Apple policies and what or when they are going to do in the future.

If you want to let Apple know something, go to www.apple.com/feedback and click on the appropriate link.

Very good point. And I now have egg on my face.

Note that after a couple of hours resetting the iphone, contacting TPG , backing up the iPhone, and reseting the Network settings the "Personal Hotspot" button finally showed up.

Ive also learned that my comments were based on some missinformation and that it apprears that my accusations are somewhat ill-founded. Comments based on frustration, trying to use software that is purported to "just work".

So since this is a fairly redundant post containing no useful help for anyone, and perhaps adding to the problem rather than helping to solve it.... I figured I might just log in and delete this post ... but apparently, unlike enery other BB ive used, it is not possible to remove or edit my own post..

Perhaps a moderator might like to remove it on my behalf?

If you would have come on and asked for help in troubleshooting the personal hotspot, myself or someone else would have been happy to try and assist you. Since you didn't pose a question, it was impossible to know exactly what you wanted, except to make accusations. I'm glad you got everything working on your phone to your satisfaction.

As a side note, this really isn't a BB, it is a forum, and the reason posters are not able to delete posts is to keep an archive of questions and resolutions. Good luck with your device.

Re: : "I'm glad you got everything working"
Oh its not working, the Personal Hotspot shows item shows, but it doesn't work.

And the iPhones WiFi wont see our network access point (and a few others) that all our other devices see no probbies... just another onging issue with iOS6 according to the forums.

Re: Trivia. "this really isn't a BB, it is a forum"
Now, if your going to be pedantic you might want to check your own grammar.
I think you mean "had have" rather than "would have" ..

Re: "the reason posters are not able to delete posts is to keep an archive of questions and resolutions"

So allowing a poster who wishes to delete or edit their post, at least if no one has yet replied, would help to improve this traceability... thats probably the reason other forums allow editing by the author, either until a reply is posted or for the session or a short time period.. common sense really.
