Same here. Just got a replacement iPhone 5 yesterday after having other issue. That one was a replacement too...

Charged the new phone last night, woke up with 100%.  After less than 20 min of total usage so far today (email, searching this forum) it's dropped to 90%.   At that rate it will be dead in a couple hours.

I have no other apps open or running in the background except mail and safari.

Several weeks ago I updated iOS on original iPhone 5 to 6.1.4 and started having battery drain problems, though not as severe as today. Took it in and asked about it and Genius guy said the battery drain was my fault that I don't know how to use my phone correctly!  He did a firmware update in the store. After that I hade major issues with sound that never happened before.  Last Friday I went back in about new sound issues, they replaced that phone with a new one because they said the firmware update must have damaged it. Yesterday having the exact same issues with new 4-day-old phone so they replaced again.

I'm getting tired of Apple claiming there is nothing wrong or blaming the users.

Just in the time it has taken me to type this the battery is down another 3% .

I have tried everything suggested nothing works. Even factory restored twice, nothing helps. I lose 1% every 4-5 minutes and that is with email set to fetch, fb deleted, locaton services off, notifications off, diagnostics data automatic send off, bluetooth off, wifi off.

I notice that when I fully charge the phone, it will drop to 99% in about 30-40 minutes, but after then I will only get 4-5 mins for evey 1%. Anyone else noticing this?

Really need a fix for this Apple!

    1. Apple isn't here.  This is a user-to-user forum.

    2. What did Apple Technical Support say when you contacted them?

I know apple isn't here, it's just me saying\hoping apple issue an update.

The guy said diagnostics on the battery didn't show anything and advised me to factory restore the phone, I did nothing changed.

Call Apple Support, and have them help you do a battery test.

Did you not read when I said, diagnostics done by apple show the battery is good?

I'm not talking about 'diagnostics'.  I'm talking about a battery test.

A disagnostic just checks what the phone says about it's current state.

A battery test is a controlled experiment, in which you determine exactly how long, under specific conditions, it takes for the battery to completely discharge.  Its not something you do in store.  It's something you'd do at home, and it will take some time.  I recommended calling Apple Support so they could walk you through the steps of setting up the test.

I had the same issue with drain after the update. I took my  Iphone 5 in to the store they hooked it up to something and said the battery was 'bad'. They installed a new battery under warranty and I haven't had a problem since.

Anyone, did iOS 7 fix the battery problem?

For me, doing other stuff listed in these threads resolved the issue like disabling Safari, Location Services etc but generally speaking I do find iOS 7 to be easier on the battery but I can still run it flat in a day easily.
